We had a busy summer on the campaign-front! From events, to parades, to service projects, we were out and about in the 8th District. Here were some of the highlights:
-On July 17th, the 39th Ward Dems hosted an Ice Cream Social with over 100 people at Alarmist Brewing & Co. at 4055 W. Peterson. We served food from five restaurants in the Ward: Mee Mah, Salsa's Grill, 5th Province at the Irish American Heritage Center, the Chocolate Shoppe, and La Michoacana.
-For the 4th of July, we walked in the Niles Independence Day Parade and the 39th Ward Dems walked in the Sauganash Parade. It was great to have the community out in full force!
-In August, we rode on a float to celebrate Indian Independence Day Parade on Devon Ave.
-Our summer interns performed multiple service projects in the community including volunteering at a food bank, serving food to Seniors, cleaning a local forest preserve, and hosting a carnival at a center that assist adults living with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities.
